Well, it’s the end of January (almost), so I thought I’d go ahead and tell you what I’m working on for this year!
I know these are usually done at the beginning of the year but I like to think that self improvement is a lifetime achievement, not just something that we start at the turn of the year and forget about within a couple weeks.
So here are the things that I’m working on right now:
- I’d like to upgrade my job, i.e. I really want a new one. So, I’ve decided to work on getting my Project Management Certification. I’ve checked out the Project Managers Book of Knowledge from the public library and I have begun to study that. I think it will go well with my stage management background. If you know anyone who has the certification and wants to share tips and tricks, please send them my way!
- I’d like to get back to running. But I’m really starting over at scratch. I am starting to walk again. Just 15 minutes at a time at the quickest pace I can manage. Next week, I’ll see how quickly I can go a mile. We’ll just take it from there.
- I’d like to get 15 – 20 knitting projects done before the end of the year. I’ve got a couple in progress already so that’s a start. They are a cowl, a set of arm warmers, a hat for Cookie, and a baby blanket. The blanket is crochet but I’ll count it any way.
- And last but not least, in correlation with upgrading my job, I’m going to start dressing the part. My goal is to dress professionally with hair and make up done each week day that I work. So on this schedule, that’s only two days a week. (I also work Saturday and Sunday but there’s basically no one there.) That will most likely change in June with a new work schedule.
Those are my biggies for the rest of the year. I’ll keep you informed with updates periodically.
